How We Help

The Bridge Center for Hope is an inpatient facility dedicated to providing immediate stabilization and compassionate care for individuals aged 18 and older who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. Our goal is to offer a safe, supportive environment where individuals can begin their path to recovery and wellness. We serve both voluntary and involuntary guests, ensuring that anyone in need of urgent help receives timely, professional support from our multidisciplinary team of behavioral health experts.

In partnership with Recovery Innovations, we use the proven Crisis Now model – an evidence-based approach to crisis care.

Our multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, licensed mental health professionals, and peer support specialists (people with lived experience) to support your recovery. Every guest is treated with dignity, understanding, and respect.

The Bridge Center’s home-like setting is designed to feel warm and welcoming- a peaceful place to recover. Guests have a daily schedule that includes individualized counseling sessions, group therapy, medication management (if needed), and meaningful connections with peers who understand what they’re going through.

23-Hour Crisis Observation (Behavioral Health Crisis Center)

All guests arriving at the Bridge Center for Hope enter our 23-hour Observation service, which is designed for guests to stay 23 hours or less, and contains 16 recliner chairs set up for optimal observation. As part of this service, all of the initial assessments are conducted here, and guests are monitored every 15 minutes for acuity. Assessments and treatment include, but are not limited to, clinical assessments, nursing assessments, psychiatric evaluations, individual and group therapy sessions, and peer engagement.

Mobile Crisis Response

The Bridge Center’s Mobile Crisis Response Team offers in-person assistance for adults in East Baton Rouge Parish experiencing a mental health crisis. Calls are dispatched through 911 services, and a two-person team—a licensed behavioral health professional and a peer support specialist—arrives to de-escalate the situation, evaluate needs, and connect individuals with appropriate care.

The team’s goal is to stabilize crises within the community, prevent unnecessary ER visits or law enforcement involvement, and, when safe, provide transportation for those seeking voluntary services.
