Crisis Care and Costs: What You Should Know

Crisis Care and Costs: What You Should Know

Worrying about cost shouldn’t stop you from getting help. When someone is facing a mental health or substance use crisis, concerns about cost are common — and completely understandable. Many people hesitate to seek care because they’re unsure what services will cost, whether insurance is required, or if they’ll be turned away if they can’t pay.

At the Bridge Center for Hope, financial concerns are never a barrier to care. The Center was designed to make sure help is available when it’s needed most — regardless of income, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Will Guests Have to Pay for Services?

No one is turned away at the Bridge Center for Hope because of cost.

The facility accepts all forms of insurance, including Medicaid. In addition, East Baton Rouge Parish residents who do not have insurance coverage can still receive services.

Thanks to funding established through a 2018 tax passage, crisis services are available for East Baton Rouge Parish residents who are uninsured or unable to afford care. Recovery Innovations — the service provider operating the facility — is contracted with all Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to cover Medicaid recipients, as well as with the Bridge Center for Hope to ensure coverage for uninsured individuals in East Baton Rouge Parish who need services.

This approach ensures that anyone experiencing a crisis can focus on getting support — not on financial barriers.

How the Bridge Center Supports Access to Care

The Bridge Center’s funding and service model was created with one clear goal: to provide immediate, compassionate crisis care without delay or discrimination.

Whether someone arrives with private insurance, Medicaid, or no insurance at all, they will receive care based on their needs — not their ability to pay. This commitment is central to the Bridge Center’s mission and reflects the belief that mental health and substance use crises deserve the same urgency and accessibility as physical emergencies.

Focus on Healing — Not the Bill

A crisis is not the time to navigate complex financial systems or worry about whether help is “affordable enough.” At the Bridge Center for Hope, the message is simple: if you need care, come in.

Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and financial concerns should never prevent someone from getting the help they need to begin stabilizing and moving forward.

If you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis, help is here — and cost should not stand in the way.
